How do we raise up the next generation of women leaders? Start with care.

I’ve had the privilege of mentoring several incredible young women—through internships, creative collaborations, and mentorship programs—and just had another intern spread her wings. I was given a thank-you note after hugs and celebrating her full-time job. While reading, I was struck by a familiarity, and dug into past notes from mentees. Upon looking through the other countless thank-you notes from the women I've had the pleasure of coming alongside, I was reminded of something powerful:

What left the biggest impact on them wasn’t just the projects we tackled or the skills they gained (though we did a lot of that too). It was how they were led.

💡 What they remembered most:

  1. Feeling seen, supported, and celebrated—not just as interns, but as women stepping into their calling.

  2. Being given real responsibility and creative freedom, paired with thoughtful feedback and genuine encouragement.

  3. Watching a woman lead with confidence and compassion, with both faith and professionalism at the center.

  4. Being invited into one-of-a-kind opportunities where they could grow, experiment, and belong.

These women didn’t just want to learn—they wanted to be led well. And what stuck with them was intentionality, empowerment, and presence

I’m so honored they trusted me with their growth. The future is bright with these women leading it—and I’m cheering them on every step of the way. 💫

To those mentoring young women: your care carries more weight than you realize. You can significantly impact those you lead both professionally and personally—shaping their growth, confidence, and vision of themselves. Your creativity, work ethic, and attention to detail will stand out. And, most of all, know that seeing, supporting, and appreciating those you're leading deeply matters.

My passion for mentoring women in creative and marketing fields began with some outrageously amazing mentors; I wouldn't be doing what I do today without those first incredible women. Thank you forever.

the future is bright,
